Who We Are

Baltimore Hindu Jain Temple was established in 1990 and has been a steadfast source of strength for the past 35 years. The mission statement is published on our website at baltimoretemple.org Greater Baltimore Hindu-Jain Temple’s (GBT) mission is to provide religious and spiritual services to the Hindu and Jain diaspora and to promote educational, social, cultural values and interfaith outreach within the surrounding communities. To provide a place of worship in the Baltimore Metropolitan area for Hindu and Jain congregation To provide an educational and a cultural center for the community at large To sponsor and conduct religious, spiritual, educational, social and cultural activities To embellish and preserve Hindu and Jain heritage and promote tradition of our rich culture To enhance religious experience and philosophy to diverse congregational group, especially the younger generation To develop congregational responsibility and recognize and respect interfaith beliefs To develop and perform community service To continue as a religious, nonpolitical and nonprofit organization

What We Do

Baltimore Hindu Jain Temple is the oldest Hindu and Jain temple in Baltimore region. It draws its membership from Baltimore County, Howard County, Carroll County and beyond. In addition to regular religious programming, it offers structured coursework in Asian Indian religions, culture and more. The temple also actively engages in targeted social causes such as serving the aged, needy, and tending to the sick.
