Blood Cancer United

Who We Are

Blood Cancer United is the leading organization for everyone affected by blood cancer. And we have been since 1949. Formerly Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, our name change recognizes and supports patients of all types of blood cancers, large and 'small'. We host community events in Baltimore to help bring together this community at our free to attend event, Light the Night.

What We Do

We fund life-saving blood cancer research around the world, provide free information and support services for patients and their families, and are the voice for those seeking access to quality, affordable, coordinated care. Co-pay assistance totaled up to 1.7 million dollars, 104,000 dollars went to resolve medical debt for MD residents over FY25 (July 1, 2024-June 30th, 2025, which represents the most up to date confirmed data, new numbers for 25-26 will come out soon). Blood Cancer United has committed over 5.5 million dollars to MD based research institutions such as Johns Hopkins in the last decade!
