Volunteer: Holiday Gift Bags for Seniors and TeensAffordable Homes & Communities (AHC) is collecting holiday gift bags for teens and senior citizens living at our affordable housing properties! We are also looking for people to make holiday cards for senior citizens. You will purchase the items and decorate & assemble the bags at your own location and schedule. We will collect gifts the second week of December so we can give them out before the holidays. We have some flexibility so please ask before signing up so we can work out an alternative delivery option. For this project, you will: Purchase or collect items. Specific suggestions on the Sign-up Genius. Decorate the gift bags and/or make cards for the bags. Our residents celebrate many winter holidays, so please use seasonal decorations and messages. Affordable Homes & Communities hosts a free Afterschool Program at Greenspring Overlook, and is seeking male volunteers to work with elementary school aged boys, to support them both academically and social-emotionally. The volunteer shifts are Monday-Thursday, 4:30-5:30pm. Volunteers serve one hour, weekly. Volunteers get to read, play with, and tutor students K-5th. As we expand into Baltimore, we're building out our learning spaces with donated supplies for hands-on activities, creative expression, academic support, and social-emotional growth.
