Volunteer: Tech It Easy (TIE) VolunteerPosition Summary: Volunteers will assist instructors in providing one-on-one or group technology support for older adults, helping them improve their digital literacy and gain confidence in using technology. Volunteers will work closely with older adults, walking them through easy-to-follow instructions and ensuring they understand key concepts. Your role will help create an environment of patience, empathy, and encouragement while assisting older adults to build their technological skills. In addition, you have the option to select a session you would like to lead. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the delivery of step-by-step training for older adults on using various tech tools (Ipads, phones, computers, etc.). Provide hands-on support during training sessions, ensuring participants can follow the steps and complete tasks successfully. Foster an encouraging and supportive environment, addressing any concerns or questions from participants. Tailor support to the individual learning pace and preferences of each participant, adjusting the process as needed. Encourage participants to practice independently while offering guidance and reinforcement when necessary. Help facilitate intergenerational relationships by fostering meaningful communication between younger volunteers and older adults. Assist instructors in organizing and preparing materials and resources for each training session. Report any challenges or feedback from participants to help improve future sessions and support. Qualifications: Basic understanding of common technology tools, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. Patience and the ability to explain technical concepts in simple, clear terms.
