Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking a volunteer Barber Instructor to deliver Barbering and male grooming instruction to incarcerated men Baltimore County Department of Corrections. Responsibilities include teaching haircutting fundamentals, sanitation practices, tool handling, and workplace readiness while supporting Baltimore County Department of Corrections standards.  Maryland Barber licensure through the Maryland Board of Barbers is preferred, volunteers will be subject to background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training This role requires professionalism, consistency, and a commitment to empowering incarcerated men build with practical vocational skills. Experience in adult education/vocational learning or relevant professional experience preferred.

Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking a volunteer/s Haircare Instructor to provide basic and advanced haircare education to incarcerated women within the Baltimore County Department of Corrections. Volunteers will teach skills such as natural hair maintenance, braiding, hygiene, and product knowledge while supporting Baltimore County Department of Corrections standards. Maryland cosmetology licensure through the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists is preferred, and all volunteers will be subject to a background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training. This role requires professionalism, consistency, and a commitment to empowering incarcerated women with practical vocational skills. Experience in adult education/vocational learning or relevant professional experience preferred.

Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking a volunteer who can run Christian Faith Based Programs for Women. This will require partnering with BCDC Volunteer Team Program Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and various Staff, both by phone, email, and in person, at the facility. This Volunteer will coordinate scheduling, set up, and break down of Program(s), continuously. The Program(s) will be provided to Incarcerated Individuals at BCDC while ensuring the principles and practices of the Christian Faith Based Organization are followed and in accordance with facility policies and security requirements. There will also be available coordination with the BCDC Chaplain(s) for additional support and communication, where and when needed. All potential volunteers will be subject to a background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training.

Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking an Islamic Religious Services Volunteer/Volunteer Imam. The Jumu’ah Authority is a volunteer Islamic religious leader (Imam or qualified designee) who conducts the weekly Jumu’ah service in a correctional setting. This role includes leading the prayer and brief sermon, providing basic religious guidance to both incarcerated men and women, and ensuring services are carried out in accordance with facility policies and security requirements. The volunteer must be recognized by an established Islamic organization, mosque, or faith community or organization as qualified to lead Jumu’ah prayer.  This role requires willingness to coordinator with the Facility Chaplain. All potential volunteers will be subject to a background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training.

Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking a volunteer who can run Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, and/or Al-Anon Meeting(s) for Women. This will require partnering with BCDC Volunteer Team Program Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and various Staff, both by phone, email, and in person at the facility. This Volunteer will coordinate scheduling, set up, and break down of 1 or more meetings weekly, continuously, providing to Incarcerated Individuals at BCDC while ensuring the principles and practices of AA, Al-anon, and NA are followed and in accordance with facility policies and security requirements. All potential volunteers will be subject to a background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training.

We are currently seeking volunteers to assist with various clerical duties, including filing and data entry. Interested applicants for clerical volunteer positions should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and possess a keen attention to detail.
