Description

Have a passion for helping people?  Come join Feeding Friends!

At UM Rehab & Ortho, we specialize in treating people with brain or spinal cord injuries, strokes, amputations or other complex medical needs. Due to these injuries or illnesses our patients may have challenges related to seating, swallowing, coordination or other barriers to eating on their own.

For some patients, due to the challenges mentioned above, meal times may not be enjoyable.  We aim to create an environment where they can take their time, eat food when it is hot and have a pleasant meal.  Volunteers help to make this a reality by focusing on one patient, building rapport and allowing the patient the time they need to consume their meals.

We need your help!  Please complete an  application to get started.
