Answer the Call to Help Your Community
211 United Way

  • Duties: Volunteers are needed in 211’s call center to assist callers with food-related needs. This is an in-person opportunity. Free parking is available.
  • Where: 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 340, Baltimore 21230 (Montgomery Park building- parking available in the red and blue lots adjacent to the building)
  • Commitment:  Flexible scheduling, Monday- Friday. Volunteers are asked to commit to 3 to 4 hours, twice per week. Volunteers can elect for shifts anytime between the hours of 9am-5:30pm.
  • Skills Needed: Strong communication; Computer/ database proficiency

Packing Hope, One Box of Food at a Time
Community Assistance Network (CAN)

  • Duties: Help clients shop for food items in CAN’s Community Choice Pantry. Tasks include interacting with clients to help them make healthy selections; packing up the items and assisting with taking out to their cars. Free onsite parking available.
  • Where: 7900 East Baltimore Street, Dundalk, 21224
  • Commitment: There are two shifts: 8:30am-11:30am or 12:30-3:30pm. Available days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Preference for a weekly commitment of the same shift, but flexible scheduling available.
  • Skills Needed: Effective communication skills; Ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods

Packing for a Purpose
Happy Helpers

  • Duties: Pack food boxes and other supplies to be delivered to those who are unhoused throughout the state.
  • Where: 1550 Caton Center Drive, Halethorpe, 21227
  • Commitment: Activity takes place every Saturday at either 8am or 11am. Sign up for the shifts that work for you.
  • Skills Needed: Ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods
