Who We Are

Mission: To work in partnership with the community to develop, operate, and support programs that reduce vulnerability and empower personal growth, dignity, stability and self-sufficiency among people in Baltimore County experiencing economic challenges.

CAN is a Baltimore County-based non-profit organization, established in 1965 as part of a national network of over 1,000 Community Action Agencies. We have a community choice food pantry in eastern Baltimore County. Three Shelters throughout Baltimore County, as well as various Resource Centers.

What We Do

Community Assistance Network, Inc. (CAN) achieves its mission by providing key services to reduce vulnerability and promote self-sufficiency in Baltimore County. We offer Homeless & Housing Services to stabilize individuals through shelters and housing support, while our Community Choice Pantry provides healthy food to low-income families. Through Outreach Programs, Community Resource Specialists guide residents to essential services, and our Budget Counseling program teaches financial literacy. Additionally, the After School Program supports youth development with academic and life skills activities, helping the community build stability and growth.
