Rose of Sharon Equestrian School, Inc.

Who We Are

Mission: To allow individuals with disabilities, from autism to Alzheimer’s, to harness the benefits of the human-horse bond.

For nearly 25 years, Rose of Sharon Equestrian School (ROSES) has been providing experiential learning and therapeutic services for individuals with disabilities through structured and safe interactions with horses in the naturally stimulating environment of an ADA-compliant horse stable and all-season, indoor arena.

What We Do

Rose of Sharon Equestrian School (ROSES) is seeking volunteers in all capacities ranging from youth looking for Student Service Learning hours to professionals interested in serving on our Board of Directors. You must have a heart for horses and helping individuals with special needs.

We have work available in the following areas:

  • Program Administration (office work, computer skills, fundraising, marketing, grant research, event planning, etc.);
  • Stable Help (feeding, cleaning, grooming, barn chores, facilities & grounds maintenance, etc.);
  • Lessons/Students (set up/clean up, tacking up, helmet fitting, leading, side-walking, tack cleaning, etc.).

We are looking for people, typically aged 16 or older who are positive, hard-working, energetic, committed, and reliable. If your interest is strong, but you don’t have experience, we will train you leaving both you and ROSES better for having worked together!
