Who We Are
Mission: To save lives, provide hope, and help those impacted by blood cancer.
We have a variety of programs and initiatives, including bone marrow donor registry drives, the Hero Fund, Color the Registry, and Join for Joe.

Since 2019, we have:
Registered 23,134 potential lifesavers onto the bone marrow donor registry
Found 709 matches
Facilitated 67 life-saving transplants
Provided 155,985 meals to patients
What We Do
We rely on volunteers to:
Educate people on the importance of joining the bone marrow donor registry and facilitate the swabbing process for those who are interested in registering at bone marrow donor registry drives.
Prepare and serve meals for the cancer patients and caregivers at Johns Hopkins Hackerman-Patz Patient and Family Pavilion, create cards of encouragement, assemble care packages, and stuff farting animals for pediatric cancer patients.
Provide support at special events, including the Bob Bell Automotive Charity Golf Tournament, and United Karting
There Goes My Hero also has in-office volunteer opportunities as well, including opportunities to write “Thank You” letters to our donors, call businesses for donations, and more!
