The organization shifted gears during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to develop a robust food recovery and distribution network. Partnering with various local businesses and nonprofits, So What Else Baltimore distributes food across the city, especially targeting food deserts and at-risk neighborhoods.
Their services include regular mobile food distributions, a brick-and-mortar resource center in Southwest Baltimore, and partnerships with schools like Frederick Elementary to provide food and essential supplies. In addition to food, they also offer clothing, diapers, hygiene kits, and other necessities to support underserved communities.
The Baltimore chapter of So What Else has become one of the largest food distributors in the city, serving thousands of residents each month and continuously expanding its reach through collaborations with other community organizations.
