Who We Are

Mission: To strengthen lives by connecting individuals to community resources, programs, and services that support health, safety, and independence.

We serve the senior population, caregivers, and adults with disabilities in Baltimore County, Maryland. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for older adults through a variety of programs and services aimed at promoting health, independence, and community engagement.

What We Do

Key areas of focus include:

  • Senior Centers and Wellness Programs: Offering a range of activities, classes, and health screenings.
  • Caregiver Support: Resources and guidance for those caring for elderly family members.
  • Nutrition Services: Meal programs, including home-delivered meals for homebound seniors.
  • Transportation Assistance: Helping seniors access essential services and social activities.
  • Advocacy and Protection: Ensuring seniors’ rights are upheld, including protection against abuse and neglect.

The BCDA also coordinates with local and state agencies to provide access to information, benefits counseling, housing assistance, and employment support for older adults. Through its programs, the department aims to foster aging in place and promote an age-friendly community.
