Who We Are

The mission of the Department of Corrections is to provide public safety by confining pretrial detainees and sentenced offenders in a clean, safe and secure detention facility, to ensure appearance at court, to manage alternatives to incarceration and to provide self-improvement opportunities for community reentry.

What We Do

BCDC prioritizes stakeholder relationships to bring critical services to our underserved populations with a myriad of complex and essential needs. Growing volunteer relationships to partner with existing staff is necessary to foster programs and services to improve outcomes. We are committed to enhancing Volunteer's proficiency through continued development. The time and robust skills provided by Volunteers' support results in Incarcerated Individual's successful re-integration into our Baltimore County community and beyond.
