The Eastside Shelter is a 236-bed shelter, offering essential resources and a safe, supportive environment for families, single women, and single men who are facing homelessness, helping them regain stability and secure permanent housing as quickly as possible.
We are looking for volunteers to help with a range of tasks! Volunteers are needed to help with planning and coordinating activities, assisting with meal service, organizing donations, providing administrative support and more. After submitting a volunteer application, the Resource & Education Coordinator will reach out to discuss current shelter needs, volunteer interests, and next steps.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years +
- Must pass a background check
- Commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, and trauma-sensitive environment for all clients, volunteers, and staff
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently
