Deliver Food Boxes, Wednesday, June 17, for 2 hours between 10am-2pm
Monteverde, 2501 Violet Ave, Baltimore, 21215, is an apartment building for low-income senior citizens. A few weeks ago there was a fire in one unit and while thankfully everyone is fine, the elevators are not. They sustained enough water damage that they are both out of service. We have offered free alternate housing for residents while the repairs are being made but some residents prefer to stay in their units and use the stairs. We are looking for volunteers to deliver food boxes to their doors rather than having them pick up their monthly groceries. The delivery window is 10am-2pm on Wednesday, June 17. Volunteers would need to be physically fit enough to carry 20 lb boxes up the stairs (1-13 floors). I'm looking for volunteers able to make a 2 hour commitment within the 10am-2pm time block.
