Who We Are

Mission: To train and coach people facing career and life transitions to overcome barriers, restore self-belief, and acquire the skills and tools needed to secure employment on a path to a living wage.

Maryland New Directions (MND) is a 50-year-old award-winning non-profit organization offering no-cost employment coaching and specialized career training programs for Baltimore area residents, ages 18-60 years of age.

At MND, we believe that career-minded employment, which provides a living wage, will help low-income individuals in Baltimore maintain family units, stay substance abuse free, crime free, retain employment, and maintain a safe home for their children in order to build a strong and safe community.

What We Do

From single parents to ex-offenders, youth to older workers, our goals are to assist disadvantaged job-seekers to identify career paths, find a job, develop their careers, and stay employed so they can become self-sustaining and contributing members of their families and communities.

Our holistic approach and valuable employer partnerships create the opportunity for long-term careers with outcomes that include industry recognized credentials, a living wage, and an impressive average employment retention rate of 82.5% (1 yr) for our graduates.
