Who We Are
Mission: Sisters Circle provides long-term mentoring to foster meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of girls and young women.
Our story began in 2000. Irma Johnson, former principal of Dallas F. Nicholas School, said: “My fifth grade girls show so much promise and potential, but when they transition to middle school, we gradually begin to lose them. Some may say they lose themselves.”
It began simply, with six girls and a vision. Today, we support over 80 mentor-mentee pairs throughout their five-year relationships.
What We Do
Sisters Circle cultivates one-to-one connections between adolescent girls and a diverse circle of women within the Baltimore community.
As a mentor to a middle school girl, you will see your mentee twice a month, attend Sisters Circle events together, provide access and awareness to new opportunities, develop a post-secondary education plan and receive guidance from our team. Make a difference in a young girl’s life…and your own. Apply on our website and a member of our team will reach out to schedule an informational call with you.
