Role Overview

Board Members of Evolve Community Foundation, Inc. (ECFINC) serve as volunteer leaders who provide governance, strategic guidance, and fiduciary oversight in support of the organization’s mission to create and preserve long-term, sustainable community wealth, and a better quality of life for students, families, and community stakeholders.

Board service is a non-paid, volunteer leadership role and does not involve day-to-day program operations.


Roles & Responsibilities

  • Uphold ECFINC’s mission, vision, and guiding principles

  • Provide strategic direction and policy-level governance

  • Exercise fiduciary responsibility, including oversight of finances and organizational assets

  • Participate in board meetings, committees, and strategic planning activities

  • Support executive leadership through guidance, accountability, and evaluation

  • Assist with organizational sustainability, fundraising, and resource development

  • Serve as ambassadors for ECFINC within the community and professional networks

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards


Qualifications & Expectations

  • Commitment to ECFINC’s mission and values

  • Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and leadership

  • Ability to collaborate respectfully with fellow board members and leadership

  • Experience in governance, nonprofit leadership, finance, education, law, community development, or related fields is preferred but not required

  • Attendance at scheduled board meetings and active participation in board activities


Governance & Compliance

  • Board Members do not provide direct, unsupervised services to youth

  • Must comply with ECFINC bylaws, conflict of interest policy, and code of ethics

  • Background check may be required in accordance with Baltimore County and organizational policy
