Baltimore County Department of Corrections is currently seeking an Islamic Religious Services Volunteer/Volunteer Imam. The Jumu’ah Authority is a volunteer Islamic religious leader (Imam or qualified designee) who conducts the weekly Jumu’ah service in a correctional setting. This role includes leading the prayer and brief sermon, providing basic religious guidance to both incarcerated men and women, and ensuring services are carried out in accordance with facility policies and security requirements. The volunteer must be recognized by an established Islamic organization, mosque, or faith community or organization as qualified to lead Jumu’ah prayer. This role requires willingness to coordinator with the Facility Chaplain. All potential volunteers will be subject to a background screening, security screening, facility orientation, and PREA training.
